Title: Oldmans Township - Salem County
In the absence or disability of the Municipal Clerk, the Deputy shall have all the powers of the Municipal Clerk and shall perform the functions and duties of the office.
Serve as information officer to the public and to the media
Purchase equipment and supplies when required
Assist in keeping Township website accurate, timely and in compliance with State mandated material
Assist with OPRA requests
Pick up mail at post office as needed
Deposit funds into bank as needed
Recording of Trash/Bulk Stickers
Assistant to the Construction Code Official (Gov Pilot Software System)
Reviews applications for construction permits to ensure all necessary information and documents are included and requests additional information as instructed or directed by the appropriate Sub-Code or Construction Official.
Issues construction permits after approval and authorization have been granted by the Construction Official.
Aids the general public by providing information of a technical nature concerning the requirements and standards relating to the Uniform Construction Code.
Schedules inspections on behalf of the Construction Code and Sub-Code Officials.
Reviews current building permits for overdue inspections, and may take appropriate action for scheduling inspections.
Accepts and processes payments for building permits.
Maintains records and files.
Record Retention (Artemis Software System)
Responsible for implementing local archives and record retention programs as mandated
Assistant to the Tax Collector (Edmunds Software System)
Assist in receipt of tax payments
Sending delinquent notices
Answering resident inquiries and third party tax inquiries
Completion of tax deduction paperwork on behalf of residents.
Dog Licensing Officer (Gov Pilot Software System)
Communicate to the public animal licensing requirements
Issue dog licenses and process payments
Respond to animal complaints in conjunction with the Animal Control Officer
Participate in annual Rabies Clinic
Deputy Registrar (EDRS Software System)
(Must be licensed through State of New Jersey)
Interaction with the public regarding vital statistics: births, marriages and deaths.
Responsible for maintaining vital records at the municipal level
Issuing marriage licenses and death certificates
Send annual billing statements
Notary Public (must be licensed through State of New Jersey)
Witness in-person signatures
