The Borough of Eatontown is seeking a Registered Municipal Clerk/Registrar of Vital Statistics. The selected candidate will perform all statutory duties of the Municipal Clerk and Registrar of Vital Statistics pursuant to NJSA 40A:9-133 and will report to the Borough Administrator and Borough Council. Candidate must possess both Registered Municipal Clerk (RMC) and Certified Municipal Registrar (CMR) certificates. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are critical to this position. Must have prior experience as a Municipal Clerk or Deputy Clerk and Municipal Registrar or Deputy Registrar. Responsibilities include serving as the secretary of the municipal corporation, secretary to the governing body, chief administrative officer of all elections, chief registrar of voters, administrative officer and issuing vital statistics records. Must have experience preparing meeting agendas, writing resolutions, processing/noticing ordinances, preparing minutes, OPRA, financial disclosures, RFP and bid process, records management, issuing a variety of licenses and permits and all other duties of the municipal clerk in accordance with State and local statutes. Must attend council and special meetings and be able to work long hours on Election Day as required by law. The candidate should be organized, computer proficient, able to manage multiple tasks, customer service oriented, pleasant, professional and effective while working with employees, officials and the public. Qualified Purchasing Agent certification (QPA) and supervisory experience a plus. Salary for this position is based on Borough of Eatontown Ordinance 34-2023. This is an exempt position with a salary range of $90,000.00 - $163,956.43; health, dental and vision benefits are also available.
