Title: Lakewood Township - Ocean County
ASSISTANT MUNICIPAL CLERK - LAKEWOOD TOWNSHIP, OCEAN COUNTY.
The Township of Lakewood is seeking a full-time Assistant/Deputy Municipal Clerk for its Municipal Clerk’s Office. Under direction of the Municipal Clerk on a regular and recurring basis, plans, organizes, manages, and coordinates the various activities of the office in accord with state and local laws, rules, regulations, and policies; does other related duties. Candidate must be a Registered Municipal Clerk (RMC) or willing to obtain licensure quickly. Ideal candidate will also be a Certified Municipal Registrar (CMR) or willing to complete the certification program. Supervisory experience is requested.
Requirements:
Five years of clerical experience involving responsibility for maintaining records of business transactions and office activities. Supervisory experience preferred. Experience in Local Government required, preferably experience in a Municipal Clerk’s Office. An understanding of Municipal Clerk duties is required, including but not limited to agenda preparation, elections, Municipal licensing, OPRA and record maintenance. A Registered Municipal Clerk (RMC) license is preferred or willing to obtain licensure quickly. Additionally, the ideal candidate will also be a Certified Municipal Registrar (CMR) or willing to complete the certification program. Bi-lingual is a plus.
Salary Range: starting at $50,00.00 annually
