Title: Borough of Avalon - Cape May County

The Borough of Avalon is seeking a full time Deputy Municipal Clerk/Deputy Registrar of Vital Statistics. This position provides direct assistance to the Borough Clerk. In addition to providing assistance and administrative support to the Borough Clerk, duties shall also include attending council meetings during the absence of the Borough Clerk, preparation of resolutions and agendas, attendance at elections in the absence of the Borough Clerk, and processing of Open Public Records Act requests. The position requires a high degree of responsibility, confidentiality, mature judgment, professionalism, excellent attendance, flexibility, and dedication to the municipality. Organizational skills, typing, computer skills (Microsoft Office/email) are required. Effective communication and public relations skills are necessary to work with various departments, agencies, and the public. Requirements include high school diploma/GED. Registered Municipal Clerk (RMC) certificate is preferred but not required.
