If you are looking for nearby things to do, there many area Attractions. Some local popular eateries are the Stage House Tavern, Freddy's Sports Bar (a bit more casual), Piazza Orsillo (awesome pizzeria/Italian restaurant), and Ovations Restaurant.  If shopping is your passion, the Bridgewater Mall  is nearby with over 150 stores and restaurants.  Somerset County Tourism is another good resource for things to do in Somerset County.
 
Nearby New Brunswick has much to offer with over 40 dining options to choose from. Downtown New Brunswick is well known for its arts district and outstanding Jazz programs. During the three day conference in April, live Jazz performances will be featured at local business establishments each evening.
 
Additionally, The Stress Factory will host live comedy performances on Wednesday and Thursday, April 26th & 27th. Alfa Art Gallery, the Zimmerli Museum and the Hungarian Museum will all be hosting exhibitions.
 
For anyone extending their stay through Saturday, April 29th, you can experience Rutgers Day and the New Jersey Folk Festival which is open and free to the public, with over 60k attendees last year.
