ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT OF PUBLIC WORKS-WOODLAND PARK, PASSAIC COUNTY- is seeking a customer oriented, experienced professional to assist in the planning, supervising, organizing and directing of all DPW activities including the following: water and sewer operations, streets and roads, traffic signals, snow removal, sanitation/recycling, parks, buildings and grounds, athletic fields, fleet maintenance, capital improvements and maintaining a Municipal Form Four fire signal system.
Candidates must have at least 5 years of experience in Municipal Public Works operations and demonstrated supervisory experience.
The successful candidate should have the ability to lead, supervise, schedule and work with crews on a daily basis while motivating the staff to work as a team, maintain safety, discipline and enforce policies and procedures.
Candidates must possess, or obtain in a reasonable period of time, the following: STATE NJDEP and NJDCA Licenses; T-1, W-3, C-2; a valid Certified Public Works Manager’s Certification; a Certified Professional Recycling License; a valid NJ driver’s license with a CDL Class B with Air endorsement with an Automotive/Medium-Heavy Truck ASE qualification. An individual with a strong Electrical background is preferred. Knowledge of PE type engineering, a demonstrated proficiency in the use of HEALY-FURR Type SCADA SYSTEM and knowledge of Edmunds and Badger Connect software is helpful.
The successful candidate will need to have excellent communication, budgeting, planning and personal management skills. This is a full time position with salary dependent on qualifications and experience. Candidate will be required to be available to the Borough 24/7 to address emergency and non-emergency issues.
