The Borough of Hawthorne is looking to fill the position of:
DEPUTY BOROUGH CLERK
Full-time, permanent position, M-F 8:30am – 4:30pm
Job Description: Assistant to the Borough Clerk, duties include but are not limited to: preparation of agenda packets for council meetings, transcribe meeting minutes; assists with customer service which includes answering phones, directing calls and assisting residents at the counter. Processes permits and license applications, supports filing and maintenance of borough records; assists with the conduction of all municipal elections; other duties as directed by the Borough Clerk.
Candidates should have excellent organizational and communication skills, be detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task in a busy environment; proficient in Microsoft Office programs, social media and internet research methods; knowledge and experience in general customer service, standard office procedures and equipment. Experience with a municipal or other governmental agency is a plus.
Current Salary $36,192; pension and health benefits.
